| Moved local Joomla to live site - 404 Component Not Found Error |
|
Steve, Your directions to "Move Joomla Site from Local to Live Server" ARE EXCELLENT! I actually got all the way through to the part where Kickstart was working on my .JPA file, but I saw the spinning beach ball after a while and I never got to the part where I saw the message "Please click here to open JoomlaPack Installer restore script in a new window." I force quit everything but when I looked in the live server's file manager, it looked like everything could have been there so I did a restore and I got through the installation, adding my database info, etc. I WAS SO EXCITED, until I reached the end. After I deleted the installation folder, I tried to get into my site and got this "404 Error, Component Not Found." So I thought, well maybe all the files weren't there because Kickstart had hung up. So I deleted my Joomla and Kickstart files and thought I'd start over. BUT, before I did I noticed in my "public_html" folder these two files: ".htaccess" and ".htaccess.02-10-9.00.05" Am I supposed to have two? Do I need to delete that ".htaccess.02-10-9.00.05" file before I start again? I don't anything about this File Manager, and don't know if that access file needs to be changed? Last week I was able to transfer a Joomla Play Site from another server to this server... so I don't know if that ".htaccess.02-10-9.00.05" file is for my that Joomla Play Site or what? HELP! You always come through for me! Thanks in advance!
