Joomla K2 for Magazine / Blog / Directory Project

I'd like to use Joomlaworks K2 CCK (I think) for a site that will have a Magazine, a Blog and a Directory.

K2 seems that it can do everything I am looking for (subdirectories, custom fields, etc.) , but I need to learn a lot more about it and the K2 support documentation and tutorials are not fully developed yet.

I am using the Kinetic Template from RT and it does not have K2 styling.

What is involved with modifying K2's templates/CSS to match the Kinetic styling. Finally, I'd like to know the pros and cons of using K2.

Sounds like Joomla 1.6 will solve the nested categories dilemma, but I need to get going on this project now.
