SEF ServiceMap2 pingback not working

Hi,

I read your tutorial on installing a sitemap extension.

I was in the process of putting my own xml file together per sitemap.org's and the W3C schema but this looked like a much simpler course to follow.

I looked at Xmap but installed the SEF ServiceMap2 component since it apparently has a built in pingback plugin that utilizes pingomatic to let the major SEs know about your sitemap and changes to the site. Sounds like a great idea.

The install went well but the pingback feature doesn't work. Not a single ping sad Also, the XML sitemap is minimal and doesn't include the , or tags.

I like the idea of the pingback plugin, have you been able to get this working on an installation?

The forum for this extension is stale and unfortunately it looks like development on this may have stalled. Have you heard anything concerning the status of this extension?
