OSTalks #2 with Brian Teeman

OSTalks

Welcome to the second episode of OSTalks, our new video podcast series.

Our aim with OSTalks is to present conversations with interesting people from around the open source world.

In the first few episodes of OSTalks, we're going to chat with people from a whole variety of different countries. We'll ask about what it's like to run a business and be involved in the open source scene in their country.

About this week's OSTalk

This week I'm chatting with Brian Teeman from Leeds, England.

Brian is the co-founder of Joomla! and travels the world as one of its chief evangelists. He blogs at Brian.Teeman.net and at the time of recording, had just returned from JoomlaDay Melbourne 2013.

Brian T - Enjoyed him here in Melbourne and great follow up interview. We need more visionaries like him to ease the workload ! ! !

Great interview. Hope you make a habit of it! Not sure I agree on one point...the biggest battles or at least those with the biggest stakes in all of these communities have been between the trademark holders and theme or extension developers.

"The right tool for the job," indeed. There are so many great tools out there -- Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, Expression Engine, ModX Concrete5, Silverstripe... I hope they all can have evangelists like Brian who are as committed and generous toward other projects as he is.

Good interview (I also liked the Pete Bui interview). Loved Brian's line, "Nobody looks like their avatar"!

More of this! Very interesting to hear opinions and experiences from more people making a living off of Joomla, :)

It was awesome to meet Brian at my first Joomla Day recently in Melbourne and I can see why Brian says Joomla Days are addictive!

Great interview. Thanks Rod and Brian.

Neil.
