Over the last two weeks we've rolled out a new ticketing system. The system is designed to help students register more easily and prepare for the class more effectively. Here's a brief overview of the changes:
New Feature #1: Automatic online training accessOne the main reasons we wanted to make this change was to improve student learning. One of the most frequent thing beginners said to us when they arrived to start classroom training was, "we don't know enough to be able to ask questions". We want to help students to be more prepared before classroom training. We want them to know more and to become more able to ask questions and participate. So all students are now automatically signed up for the online training, as soon as they register. If you're coming to classroom training, we're going to encourage you to learn as much as possible before the class. New Feature #2: New classroom page designWith our old system, some of the information was hard to find. We've redesigned the classroom pages and placed the date and time, schedule, location, directions and hotel information on the right-hand side of the page, where it's easy to see: ![]() New Feature #3: Don't have to leave the siteTickets for all our Joomla and Drupal classes are now available from http://www.ostraining.com/classroom. You can sign up without ever leaving OSTraining.com. ![]() New Feature #4: Invoices inside your acount areaRather than simply being emailed to you, invoices are now available from directly inside OSTraining.com: ![]() What did we use to build the new system? We created everything from scratch as Joomla extensions using Joomla's API to provide a custom solution specifically for our students and their needs. When then integrated it with Recurly.com, which is our payment gateway, and gave it a new design. |
