All OSTraining Extensions are Moving to Alledia.com

We have some news today about all the Joomla extensions currently hosted on OSTraining.

We’re moving almost all our extensions from ostraining.com to Alledia.com.

Why are we doing this? There are 3 main reasons:

 1. Clarity: ostraining.com is a training site and it was confusing to also host software here.
 2. Ambition: We want to make our extensions great, and not just a small feature on ostraining.com.
 3. Resources: Developing great extensions isn’t cheap. We need room to provide financial support for our developers.

What’s the goal of the new Alledia?

We think there’s a lot of Joomla users who want life to be easier. They want less features, less bloat and fewer confusing interfaces. They want extensions that make their life easier.

So, we’re going to develop extensions that make Joomla easy for everyone to use.

Think of the NoNumber extensions which focus on making Joomla more powerful. The Alledia extensions will be very similar, but will focus on making Joomla easier.

So what do you have at Alledia now?

All ostraining.com extensions are still available for free.

We now have 3 video extensions with Pro versions:

 • OSYouTube
 • OSVimeo
 • OSWistia

We’re shortly going to release 3 more Pro versions in 2014:

 • OSDownloads
 • OSMeta
 • OSContent

Then in 2015, we’ll release new extensions.

Hi Mike. Good question.
Out of all our extensions, only 2 are not moving:
1) The OSToolbar

2) Simple Renew (which has it’s own site)

A Few Suggestions:
OSDownloads – offer plugin option to add shortcode to existing content
OSMeta – offer K2 comparability (meta title control is a big pain point for K2 users)

Do I need to pay for this on top of my OSTraining Subscription?

Hi Andrew
All the code that was available on OSTraining is still available for free at Alledia.com
There are now also some Pro versions of the extensions – those aren’t free to OSTraining members.
