| January 10, 2010 |
This week we'll walk you through how to embed video and audio into an article. We're going to use a plugin called AllVideos Here's how you do it:
Using this great plugin you can embed videos from many sources that host videos as well as your own hosted videos and audio files. |

Many servers have a maximum upload of 2 MB.
You may need to ask your hosting company to raise this limit.

AllVideos is only available for Joomla 1.5. You can try a 1.6/1.7 native video player instead:

Also, I'd highly recommend that you upgrade your Joomla version to 1.7 (and update all extensions before that), ASAP. Here's an easy tutorial on how to upgrade:

You're welcome! I have good news though. I just found out that they do have the the 1.7 AllVideos available now :)

Is it any special, particular reason you strongly recommend to change Joomla into 1.7 version ?????
I ask because I install Akebabackup today to my v.1.6, made a backup and got some errors displayed on the top of back and front site and I have no idea how to repair.
May be v.1.7 is more stable ??
Yes, 1.7 is more stable, has a lot of bug fixes, has a security fix (although you can go to 1.6.6 for the security fix as well), and is a direct upgrade (so your extensions should work as they are).
Before upgrading, please make a backup with Akeeba Backup (as a just in case).
Akeeba's Admin Tools is a very good way to upgrade, here's the tutorial:

It should only take a few minutes to upgrade :)
Kind regards,
Nick
I upgraded 1.6.3->1.6.5 and eveything was ok. Then I wanted to upgrade to 1.7. What I received is follow:
Strict Standards: Static function JDatabase::test () should not be abstract in C:\xampp\htdocs \libraries\joom la\database\dat abase.php on line 350
Strict Standards: Accessing static property JCache::$_handl er as non static in C:\xampp\htdocs \libraries\joom la\cache\cache.php on line 394

And 15 lines of the same (as above). What was wrong ?? And I would not like to loose my site !!
Checkout the following discussion that tells how to edit the php.ini file to get rid of that error:
